Sample Stories
The aim of EISEA is to promote the more efficient use of different forms of energy and to reduce emissions on the islands.
To keep up with modern energy developments, we partner with educational and research institutions and are involved in the activities of the European Federation of Agencies and Regions for Energy and Environment (FEDARENE). In addition, we are participating in the Clean Energy for European Islands Secretariat’s “30 Renewable Islands by 2030” programme. Participants in the Baltic Sea “Energy Islands” cooperation network are Saaremaa, and several larger islands in neighbouring countries: Åland, Gotland and Bornholm.
Although the energy challenges and bottlenecks are similar across the islands, the challenges and opportunities can be different from one island to another.
To inspire and share knowledge, we would like to share with you success stories and examples from Estonia and around the world, in the hope that they will inspire you to adopt new energy
